A Guide to Collecting Wrestling Action Figures
At one time or another, you have probably owned an entire eclectic collection of action figures. And if you loved wrestling, you probably had a couple of wrestling action figures thrown in with your collection.
The Beginning of a Hobby
Oftentimes, collections start a life-long hobby. As a child, you probably spent many hours locked away in your room playing with your wrestling action figures. You had Jake the Snake making Rowdy Roddy Piper suffer. Your room was transformed into this great wrestling arena where you controlled the out come of the wrestling matches.
You set the game, the players and ultimately, you decide the winners. What a blast! You were happily lost in your own wrestling world.
Jake and Roddy, however, were not enough. You had to have more for your own arena. You wanted the new wrestling action figures. You wanted them so badly that you saved all your lunch money until you saved enough to buy the new ones in the store. This happened repeatedly until you end up with a huge collection and a hobby.
Marketing and Selling the Wrestling Action Figures
Nowadays, the WWE caters to the hobbies of wrestling action figure collectors. WWE had released numerous wrestling products in the market, but the strongest of these products were the wrestling action figures. They are being sold in the mainstream market and competing against other action figures like the transformers, Superman and the anime characters.
WWE has established a tongue-in-cheek marketing style for their action figures; surprisingly, they are still seeing sales from these figures. You could probably credit the popularity the booming action figure industry. People are just collecting. They finally have realized that these action figures could be a huge investment. People are fetching in hundreds or thousands of dollars in the market. You could visit some online auctions and you’d be amazed at how much people bids on certain action figures. If your wrestling action figures date back decades ago, you’d find collectors who would be willing to pay you a lot of money for your collection.
WWE has made sure that they have their own market niche. They brought in wrestling action figures that are of excellent quality in the market. The faces and bodies are carefully sculpted and meticulous attention was given to the details. You’d find a huge range of WWE action figures.
How to Collect Wrestling Action Figures
Before you start collecting your own set of WWE action figures, you need to know your purpose. Are you collecting for financial gain? Do you intend to sell them later on when the time and price is right? Do you intend to collect for your own enjoyment?
Oftentimes, people collect for either or both of those reasons. It will be easier, however, to stick with one reason than to go for both. People form attachment to their collections over time. And when they finally decide to sell their collection, they would have difficulty actually parting with them. Knowing your purpose would help you make your decisions. For instance, if you know you are collecting for profit, your focus would be to buy an action figure at a small price and to later on sell them at a huge price. You would not bother with “bonding” with your collection. Whatever your reason is, you’d still have a blast collecting your own wrestling action figures.
